For some reason I tend to get the idea that Austria gets overlooked a lot when people head over to Europe, and I hope you can prove me wrong. Austria is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe and has mountains that only Switzerland can rival. The most important thing you can remember about Austria is that you can see so much of the beautiful landscape right from the train! If you’re a nature lover and want to experience some of the most amazing scenery Europe has to offer then I highly recommend the Austria Rail Pass.
Just like the beautiful Alps, Austria shares something else similar with Switzerland, and that is one of the most efficient train systems on the planet. The train system in Austria is designed not to speed through on its way, but show you the entire country through a system of smart routes. This allows you take take in the most scenery, or connect to all the towns and cities your want to visit along the way. It is truly and amazing journey!
There are a lot of must visit places in Austria but I will only recommend the few I’ve come to know and love. First off, if you’re interested in nature and love to hike and explore then InnsBruck is the city for you. Salzberg is the picture perfect Alpine town you most likely have seen on a postcard. It is a place where everyone can enjoy a slice if Austria. Everything from Skiing, to shopping and of course the architecture. Vienna is the heart of Austria and is a thriving city that boasts fine dining, hotels and nightlife. Vienna is a place you want to spend a few days in and soak all it has to offer because it has a lot!
