Archive for the ‘ Europe Train Stations ’ Category

I just saw this on Youtube and thought it was a great look at all the trains in Europe…ok maybe not all of them. I wish we had this kind of travel setup here in North America because our transit systems are lacking big time. There are so many cool and unique trains in Europe that I’m glad this video was made to sum it all up for me…that would have been one long blog post!

Take a peek at one of the most intersting train stations in the world. This amazing train station sits cozily between the Swiss summits of Monch and Jungfrau which rests at a height of 3454 meters! No wonder they call it “The Top Of Europe”. Building the tunnel for the train proved to be a difficult task which resulted in many people losing their lives. In 1908, by some crazy bad luck about 30 tons of dynamite exploded causing all sorts of mayhem. They never finished the track to its entirety, but it’s still a feat of engineering and is a must visit on your next trip to Switzerland.
